Create Your First QR Code

Prerequisites:
- Rytinco account (Account Setup Guide)
- Destination URL ready (website, menu, contact info, etc.)
- Clear idea of your Qlink’s purpose
Step 2: Choose Your QR Code Type
Section titled “Step 2: Choose Your QR Code Type”Rytinco offers several types of QR codes to suit different needs:
Website URL
Section titled “Website URL”- Best for: Directing customers to websites, online menus, or landing pages
- Example: Restaurant menu, product catalog, company website
Contact Information (vCard)
Section titled “Contact Information (vCard)”- Best for: Sharing business contact details
- Example: Business cards, networking events, storefronts
SMS/WhatsApp
Section titled “SMS/WhatsApp”- Best for: Instant messaging and customer support
- Example: Customer service, bookings, quick inquiries
- Best for: Pre-filled email contact forms
- Example: Support requests, feedback forms
Location
Section titled “Location”- Best for: Directing customers to your physical location
- Example: Stores, restaurants, event venues
Step 3: Configure Your Qlink Details
Section titled “Step 3: Configure Your Qlink Details”Basic Information
Section titled “Basic Information”- Name Your Qlink: Choose a descriptive name (e.g., “Restaurant Menu”, “Business Card”)
- Add Description (optional): Brief note about what this Qlink is for
Destination Settings
Section titled “Destination Settings”-
Enter Your URL: Type or paste the destination URL
- Example:

- Instead of:

Step 4: Design Your QR Code
Section titled “Step 4: Design Your QR Code”Basic Styling
Section titled “Basic Styling”- Select Colors:
- Foreground: The dark parts of the QR code (default: black)
- Background: The light parts of the QR code (default: white)
- Use your brand colors for consistency
Advanced Styling (Optional)
Section titled “Advanced Styling (Optional)”-
Add Logo: Upload your logo or select an icon for the center
- Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG
- Recommended size: 64x64px to 128x128px
- The logo will be automatically sized to maintain QR code readability

Corner Style: Choose from different corner shapes

Step 5: Configure Advanced Settings (Optional)
Section titled “Step 5: Configure Advanced Settings (Optional)”UTM Parameters for Analytics
Section titled “UTM Parameters for Analytics”If you want detailed tracking in Google Analytics or other tools:
- Campaign Source: Where the Qlink is placed (e.g., “table-tent”, “poster”)
- Campaign Medium: Always use “rytinco”
- Campaign Name: Descriptive campaign name (e.g., “summer-menu-2024”)
- Campaign Content: Specific content identifier (optional)
Step 6: Generate and Test Your QR Code
Section titled “Step 6: Generate and Test Your QR Code”- Click “Create” to generate your QR code
- Wait for generation: This usually takes 2-3 seconds
- Test immediately: Use your phone to scan the QR code
- The QR code should open your destination URL
- Check that it works on both Android and iPhone
Step 7: Download and Use Your QR Code
Section titled “Step 7: Download and Use Your QR Code”Download Options
Section titled “Download Options”- PNG Format: Best for most uses (recommended)
- SVG Format: Best for professional printing and large sizes
- JPEG Format: Ready-to-print with margins
Print Quality Tips
Section titled “Print Quality Tips”- Use SVG format for professional printing
- Minimum size: 2cm x 2cm for reliable scanning
- Leave white space around the QR code (quiet zone)
- Test print quality before mass production
Step 8: Track Performance
Section titled “Step 8: Track Performance”Once your Qlink is active, you can monitor its performance:
- Go to Analytics Dashboard: Click “Analytics” in the sidebar
- View Real-time Data: See scans as they happen
- Geographic Insights: See where people are scanning
- Device Data: Understand your audience’s device preferences
- Peak Times: Learn when people scan most often
Common First-Time Issues
Section titled “Common First-Time Issues”QR Code Won’t Scan
Section titled “QR Code Won’t Scan”- Check contrast: Ensure dark/light colors have enough contrast
- Verify size: QR code should be at least 2cm x 2cm
- Test different devices: Try Android and iPhone
- Check logo size: Large logos can interfere with scanning
Wrong Destination
Section titled “Wrong Destination”- Double-check URL: Ensure the destination URL is correct
- Test in browser: Visit the URL directly to verify it works
- Check redirects: Make sure the URL doesn’t have broken redirects
Missing Analytics
Section titled “Missing Analytics”- Wait 5-10 minutes: Analytics data may take a few minutes to appear
- Verify UTM parameters: Check that tracking codes are correctly set
- Test multiple scans: Try scanning from different devices/locations
